Bandung
A City Beneath the Cloud
Bandung is the capital of West Java. It located on the old
volcanic river basin which makes it the perfect place for iold Dutch
colonialist to build their base.
It is located about 768 meters above sea level which makes
it has very cold weather, especially during night time.
Nowadays, Bandung has become the third biggest metropolitan
area in Indonesia with the population of almost 8 milion people. Come along
with its various colonial history, lots of historical building such as Gedung
Satai, Gedung Asia Afrika, Otista Road and lots of museums that supports its
legacy as Paris Van Java.
Bandung severed heavy loses dyrubng the world war. The
history tells us about how the national army fought back the Dutch army during
the Bandung Lautan Api incident. Lots of houses were burned or razed during
that incident. The national loyalist burned it so it will not fall to the Dutch’s
occupants.
I went to college there. It’s such a good place to visit. The
cold weather, the calm and peaceful environment and the existence of many universities
had give me the best living experience.
Bandung sure promise you a lot if you have the time to
really explore the city. You can enjoy the beautiful natural scenery or you can
explore the beauty of its downtown.
